The award was presented to Hall on behalf of the physician staffing firm Jackson and Coker during a special ceremony at SSM Health Good Samaritan Regional Health Center.MT. VERNON – Physician Recruiter Jessica Hall was presented with the Staff Physician Recruiter of the Year award Wednesday.
“I won't insult anyone who recruits physicians and say that it is a job, it is truly a career,” said Jackson and Coker Vice-President Thomas McKeever. “It is 24/7, 365. The efforts that individuals on a nationwide basis, such as Jessica, put into their careers in truly serving as the go-between hospital administration and medical staffs and the communities they serve is certainly a benefit to all of us as patients.”
McKeever said Hall was selected for this award out of dozens of nominees because of her dedication to facilitating healthcare at Good Sam. Hall was influential in re-establishing the in-house physician recruitment program at Good Sam.
Others praised Hall's work as well.
“I came here six months ago and have been in awe of Jessica’s energy and all that she has put into her position,” said Matthew Sojka, President of the SSM Health Medical Group. “She does a great job of working with different individuals coming in from different backgrounds and different deliveries to each and every provider that she's brought into the region. She works hard at trying to make sure it's a good fit for that individual and us as an organization, and for that I have to thank her a great deal.”
Hall was nominated by Dr. David Huddleston who was not in attendance because he is on vacation.
“I would like to thank Dr. Huddleston; I've thanked him in person already,” Hall said. “He's the one that actually nominated me. ... But my biggest thing is I couldn't do it without my family, without my husband who puts up with me working all day and all night and even when we're on vacation in another country. … I appreciate all of you because it takes all of us to be able to do it. We've made some tremendous strides here at St. Mary's Good Samaritan in my eight years of being here. We will continue to do so and we have added some phenomenal physicians to our roster. We will continue to build St. Mary's Good Samaritan hospital to the plateau we think it could be.”
